Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
These upholstery nails are ready to use straight from the clam pack. For best results, ensure you have a suitable hammer and a nail set or punch tool. It is recommended to pre-drill small pilot holes in very hard wood to prevent splitting, though this is often unnecessary in softer woods commonly found in furniture frames. Gently tap the nail into place using the hammer, ideally with a nail set to avoid damaging the nail head or the surrounding fabric.
Compatibility:
These nails are compatible with most common upholstery fabrics, including cotton, linen, velvet, and synthetic blends. They are designed to be driven into standard wood furniture frames (hardwood or softwood). Ensure the surface you are attaching them to is stable and can support the nail.
Care:
As these are metal nails with an antique finish, no special care is required after installation. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that could potentially affect the finish over time. For cleaning the upholstered item, standard fabric cleaning methods for the chosen upholstery material should be used, taking care not to snag or dislodge the nails.
