Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup
No complex setup is required. Simply uncap the tube and squeeze out the desired amount of paint onto your palette. Ensure your workspace is clean and organized, with brushes, water, and your chosen surface ready.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: This acrylic paint is compatible with a wide array of surfaces including stretched canvas, canvas boards, paper, wood, ceramic bisque, plaster, clay, and even some metals and plastics, provided they are properly cleaned and primed.
- Mediums: It mixes well with most acrylic mediums such as flow improvers, gloss mediums, matte mediums, retarders, and texture gels to alter its consistency, drying time, or finish.
- Other Paints: While generally compatible with other acrylic brands, always test a small amount first to ensure no adverse reactions.
Care and Maintenance
- Brush Care: Clean brushes immediately after use with warm water and mild soap (like dish soap). Rinse thoroughly and reshape the bristles before letting them air dry flat or brush-end up.
- Palette Care: Scrape off excess wet paint from your palette. If using a non-porous palette, dried acrylic can often be peeled off. For dried-on spots, warm water and scrubbing may be necessary.
- Paint Storage: Store paint tubes tightly capped in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Freezing or excessive heat can alter the paint's consistency and performance.
- Spills: Clean up wet paint spills immediately with water and soap. Dried acrylic paint is permanent and much harder to remove.
