The Hygiplas Chef Knife is designed for professional kitchen staff and home cooks who prioritize food safety and efficient meal preparation. Its primary benefit is the industry-standard red color-coded handle, which serves as a critical visual cue to prevent cross-contamination when working with raw meat. While the high-quality blade offers excellent precision, users should note that consistent dishwasher use may dull the edge more quickly than hand washing.

The red handle is the industry-standard color for raw meat preparation to assist with color-coding protocols.
Yes, it is designed to be dishwasher safe for easy cleaning in professional or home kitchens.
The blade length is 21.5cm, providing a balanced size for diverse meat preparation tasks.
To prevent cross-contamination, it is recommended to reserve this red-handled knife exclusively for raw meat and use a different color for vegetables.
Yes, the knife features an ergonomic handle design intended to provide comfort and control during extended use.
Use a professional sharpening stone or honing steel to restore the edge, as frequent dishwasher cleaning can accelerate edge degradation.
Ensure the handle is wiped down with a clean, dry cloth periodically during long prep sessions to maintain a firm, ergonomic grip.
To keep your knife in optimal condition, inspect the edge before each use. While the knife is dishwasher safe, we recommend manual washing with a mild detergent and immediate drying to maximize the longevity of the blade's sharpness. For compatibility, this tool is part of the larger Hygiplas color-coded series; use it alongside other colored knives (such as green for vegetables or yellow for cooked meat) to maintain a complete safety system in your kitchen. Store the knife in a dedicated knife block or magnetic strip rather than a cluttered drawer to prevent unnecessary dulling of the blade.
