Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
Setting up the Newlink 24 Port Fast Ethernet Switch is straightforward due to its Plug and Play design.
- Connect Power: Plug the included 12v 0.5A PSU into the switch's power port and then into a power outlet.
- Connect Network Devices: Use standard Ethernet cables (Cat 5e or Cat 6 recommended) to connect your computers, printers, routers, or other network devices to the switch's ports.
- Connect to Router (Optional): If you are expanding an existing network, connect one of the switch's ports to a spare LAN port on your router.
Compatibility:
- Ethernet Standards: Fully compliant with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3ab standards.
- Connection Speeds: Supports both 10Mbps and 100Mbps Ethernet devices. It will automatically negotiate the best speed with each connected device.
- Operating Systems: Compatible with all common operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and others that support standard Ethernet connectivity.
- Device Types: Works with any standard Ethernet-enabled device, such as computers, servers, printers, routers, IP cameras, and more.
Care:
- Ventilation: Ensure the switch has adequate ventilation. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces without airflow, as this can lead to overheating.
- Cleaning: To clean the switch, unplug it from the power source. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Environment: Operate the switch in a dry environment within its specified temperature and humidity range (refer to the user manual for exact specifications if available).
