Broncolor Beauty Dish Reflector with Textile Diffuser

A beauty dish offers a more focused and directional light with a quicker fall-off compared to the broader, softer light of a typical softbox. It produces a distinct light quality that is often preferred for fashion and beauty portraits due to its ability to create flattering contours and gentle shadows.

The textile diffuser softens the light further, reducing contrast and creating larger, lighter shadows. This is ideal for very smooth, flattering beauty lighting where subtle skin tones are critical.

This beauty dish is specifically designed for Broncolor light sources. While adapters might exist for some systems, it is recommended to use it with genuine Broncolor equipment for optimal performance and safety.

The counter reflector, located inside the dish and often pointing towards the flash tube, helps to shape the light. It redirects and modifies the light coming from the flash, contributing to the characteristic focused yet soft quality of a beauty dish.

Gently wipe the interior with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For stubborn marks, use a slightly damp cloth (water only), and ensure it dries completely before use. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Beauty dishes are most effective at closer to medium distances, typically within 3-10 feet of the subject, depending on the power of your light source and desired effect. The focused nature of the light makes it versatile for various portrait setups.

Ensure the counter reflector is properly seated. If using without the textile diffuser, consider attaching it for softer light. Adjust the angle of the light source relative to the subject.

Check that the diffuser is oriented correctly and that the Velcro or elastic is clear of obstructions. Ensure the reflector is clean and free of debris.

Verify the white coating inside the reflector is clean and undamaged. Ensure the flash tube is functioning correctly and that no colored gels are accidentally attached to the light source.
