FAQs

How long will the UPS provide power during an outage?

The runtime depends on the load. A lighter load will provide longer runtime. Under full load, the runtime will be shorter.

How do I replace the battery?

Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions. The battery is user-replaceable. Always use a replacement battery specified by APC.

What kind of devices can I connect to the UPS?

You can connect computers, monitors, networking equipment (routers, modems), and other low-power devices. Do not connect laser printers or appliances that may draw heavy currents.

How often should I test the UPS?

Test the UPS functionality at least every six months to ensure it's working correctly.

What does the "AVR" feature do?

AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) corrects minor voltage fluctuations without using the battery, extending battery life.

What should I do if the UPS is making a buzzing sound?

A buzzing sound can be normal during battery operation. However, if the sound is excessive, it could indicate an issue. Check the load and ensure devices are not overloading the unit.

Where can I find the user manual?

The user manual is included with the product. You can also download it from the APC website.

Troubleshooting

UPS not turning on.

Check the power connection to the wall outlet and the UPS. Ensure the power switch is in the on position. Verify that the battery is properly connected.

UPS beeping continuously.

The UPS is likely experiencing an overload or low battery. Reduce the load by disconnecting some devices or recharge the battery.

Devices are not receiving power during an outage.

Check the battery connections. Ensure the UPS is turned on and that the connected devices are also turned on. If the battery is old, it might need replacement.

The UPS is beeping and the "Overload" light is on.

Disconnect some devices to reduce the load on the UPS. The total power draw of the connected devices exceeds the UPS's capacity.
