Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of a spelter socket is a specialized process that involves clearing and splaying the wire rope strands, inserting them into the socket bowl, and securing them with a molten metal or resin compound. Due to the critical nature of this process, the manufacturer requires that installation be performed by qualified professionals to ensure the 1-ton Safe Working Load is met. Post-installation, the unit should be inspected periodically for signs of corrosion or movement. Keep the clevis pin lubricated to prevent seizing and ensure that the pin is fully secured with a cotter pin or safety wire at all times.
