Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Unpack the Weller WSR 201 Safety Rest.
- Determine which cleaning method you will use primarily: wet sponge or dry brass wool.
- If using the wet sponge, place it in the designated sponge holder. If using the dry brass wool, place it in its holder.
- If you need to swap between wet and dry cleaning, simply reverse the base of the rest to position the desired cleaner on top.
- Ensure the exchangeable tip retainer is suitable for your soldering iron tip. If not, select and install the appropriate retainer (sold separately).
Compatibility:
The Weller WSR 201 is compatible with the following Weller soldering irons:
- WP 65
- WP 120
- WXP 65
- WXP 120
- WP 80
- WSP 80
- WXP 80
Always confirm your soldering iron model against this list before use.
Care:
- Sponge: If using the wet sponge, keep it moist during operation. Replace the sponge periodically when it becomes worn or degraded to maintain effective cleaning.
- Brass Wool: The brass wool requires minimal care. Ensure it is free of debris. It does not need to be replaced as frequently as the sponge.
- General Cleaning: Wipe the rest with a slightly damp cloth as needed to remove dust or flux residue. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
