The Microplane Gourmet Coarse Grater is an essential kitchen tool for home cooks and culinary enthusiasts who require precision grating for hard cheeses, root vegetables, and aromatics. Its primary benefit is the photo-etched, ultra-sharp stainless steel blade that cuts ingredients cleanly rather than tearing them, ensuring maximum flavor release and a professional texture. While the grater is highly effective and durable, users should exercise caution during handling, as the blades are extremely sharp and can easily cause nicks if fingers are placed too close to the grating surface.

While it can be used for citrus, it is a coarse grater. For fine zesting, a specialized fine-blade Microplane is recommended.

Hold the ginger root firmly and grate with a back-and-forth motion, allowing the sharp teeth to slice the ginger into a fine, aromatic consistency.
Yes, it includes a durable plastic protective cover for safe storage.
The blade is made of high-quality, photo-etched stainless steel manufactured in the USA.
Yes, it features a soft-touch handle designed to provide a comfortable, non-slip grip during use.
Use a soft brush or a high-pressure spray from the kitchen faucet to dislodge particles from the back of the blade.
Check for dried food residue that may be dulling the surface; perform a thorough cleaning with hot, soapy water.
To begin using your grater, simply remove the protective cover by sliding it off the blade end. Ensure you are working on a stable, flat surface to prevent slips. After use, rinse the blade under warm running water to remove food particles. While the grater is dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to prolong the longevity and sharpness of the stainless steel edges. When not in use, always store the grater with the provided protective cover secured to prevent accidental cuts and to protect the blade from damage inside your utensil drawer.
