Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the engine is cool.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Carefully remove the spark plug wires or coil-on-plug units from the old spark plugs.
- Use a 16mm spark plug socket and appropriate extension to unscrew and remove the old spark plugs.
- Thread the new NGK 4371 spark plugs in by hand to avoid cross-threading.
- Tighten the spark plugs using a torque wrench to the manufacturer's specifications (refer to your vehicle's service manual).
- Reattach spark plug wires or coil-on-plug units.
- Reconnect the battery terminal.
Compatibility:
Always verify that the NGK 4371 (MPN: 4371) is listed as a compatible replacement for your specific vehicle's make, model, and year. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual or a reputable automotive parts database. These plugs have a 14mm thread size, 19mm thread reach, and require a 16mm spanner.
Care:
Spark plugs are wear items and generally not user-serviceable beyond replacement. Ensure the area around the spark plugs is clean before removal to prevent debris from falling into the cylinder. Inspect old spark plugs for signs of wear or fouling, which can indicate other engine issues.
