Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before installation, ensure your rotors are compatible with sintered pads; some lightweight rotors are specifically labeled for 'Organic Pads Only' and should not be used with these components.
- Clean: Clean the rotor surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove oil or residue.
- Remove: Depress the brake piston and carefully remove old pads.
- Inspect: Since no hardware is included, inspect your existing retaining pin and spring for wear or deformation before reuse.
- Install: Slide the new pads into the caliper, ensuring the steel backing seats flush.
- Bed-in: Perform 15-20 moderate-speed stops to properly seat the pads.
Keep the brake system free of chain lubricants or degreasers, as any contamination on these pads can permanently ruin their performance.
