Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure peak performance and safety, follow these guidelines:
- Compatibility: Verify that your load chain is specifically 10mm gauge. Using smaller or larger chains can result in load failure or damage to the binder.
- Inspection: Before each use, inspect the ratchet teeth and the handle hinge for signs of debris, rust, or deformation. Ensure the toggle switch moves freely.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a light machine oil to the ratchet pivot points and the handle folding mechanism to maintain smooth operation.
- Storage: Always store in a dry location. While the finish is durable, preventing prolonged exposure to road salt and moisture will extend the life of the internal spring mechanisms.
- Deployment: Ensure the binder is centered properly on the chain link so the ratchet mechanism operates in a straight line, reducing side-loading stress.
