Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure you have a compatible riveting tool (rivet gun).
- Select the appropriate drill bit size for the hole.
- Drill a clean hole through the materials to be joined.
- Insert the rivet mandrel through the rivet body and into the hole.
- Place the rivet head against the material surface.
- Operate the rivet gun according to its instructions to pull the mandrel and set the rivet.
- The mandrel will snap off at the designated break point.
Compatibility:
- Materials: Ideal for joining aluminium and steel components. Can also be used with other ductile metals, but always test for compatibility.
- Tools: Compatible with standard blind rivet guns designed for 4.8mm rivets.
Care:
While these rivets are corrosion-resistant, it is recommended to maintain the integrity of the fastened joint by avoiding harsh chemical exposure. For applications exposed to the elements, ensure the surrounding materials are also adequately protected. Clean any debris from around the rivet heads as part of regular maintenance for the assembled item.
