Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Position the hasp and staple components on the door/gate and frame to ensure proper alignment when closed.
- Mark the fixing points using a pencil.
- Secure the hasp and staple to the surface using appropriate screws or bolts. Note: Fixings are not included and should be chosen based on the material of the gate/door and frame (e.g., wood screws for timber, bolts for metal).
- Ensure the swivel mechanism operates smoothly and the retaining bar holds the hasp securely.
Compatibility:
This hasp and staple is designed for use on most types of external and internal gates and doors, including:
- Barn doors
- Field gates
- Stable doors
- Sheds
- Garages
- General utility doors
Care:
To maintain the longevity of the galvanised finish and ensure smooth operation:
- Periodically check for any signs of corrosion, although the galvanisation offers significant protection.
- Clean the unit with a damp cloth if it becomes dirty. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Lubricate the swivel mechanism occasionally with a light oil if it becomes stiff, especially in harsh environments.
