Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting started with your Salter 2-in-1 Iced Coffee Maker is simple, and maintaining it ensures longevity and consistent performance.
Initial Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Placement: Place the coffee maker on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface.
- First Clean: Before first use, it's recommended to run a cycle with just water to rinse out any manufacturing residue. Fill the water reservoir, place an empty cup, and run a brew cycle without coffee.
Compatibility
- Coffee Type: This machine is compatible with ground coffee and standard coffee pads. It is not designed for use with whole coffee beans, which would require a separate grinder.
- Water: Use fresh, cold filtered water for the best taste and to help reduce mineral build-up.
Care and Maintenance
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Remove and rinse the reusable coffee filter/pad holder under warm water.
- Water Reservoir: Empty and rinse the water reservoir regularly to prevent stagnation and mineral build-up.
- Integrated Water Filter: The integrated water filter helps reduce limescale. Periodically, you may need to clean or replace this filter as per the product manual's instructions to maintain optimal performance. > Info needed: [specific filter cleaning/replacement frequency]
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up, especially in hard water areas. Descale your machine every 2-3 months or as indicated by performance (e.g., slower brewing, reduced flow). Use a commercially available descaling solution suitable for coffee makers, following the product's instructions carefully.
- Travel Cups: Always refer to the product manual for specific cleaning instructions for the included travel mugs to ensure their longevity and proper care. > Info needed: [dishwasher safety of cups]
