Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: No complex setup is required. The Eclipse Flat Chisel is ready for use upon unboxing. Ensure you have a sturdy hammer (e.g., a ball-peen or lump hammer) suitable for striking the chisel's butt.
Compatibility: This chisel is compatible with most standard striking hammers designed for demolition tools. It integrates seamlessly into professional and workshop toolkits.
Care:
- Cleaning: After each use, clean the chisel blade and shaft with a wire brush or cloth to remove debris and dust. A light application of oil can help prevent rust, especially if stored for extended periods.
- Sharpening: While resistant to frequent sharpening, the cutting edge may eventually require maintenance. Use a suitable sharpening stone or grinding wheel to maintain a keen edge, taking care not to overheat the metal.
- Storage: Store the chisel in a dry environment. Utilize a tool roll, toolbox, or rack to protect the cutting edge and prevent damage.
