Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before initial use, gently brush the bristles back and forth with your hand to remove any loose filaments left over from the manufacturing process. This prevents stray hairs from ending up in your wet paint.
Compatibility is broad; these brushes work with latex, oil-based paint, stains, varnishes, and acrylics. When working with oil-based products, ensure you have the appropriate solvent on hand for cleanup.
Care instructions are critical for longevity:
- Clean immediately after use according to the paint manufacturer's guidelines.
- Wash with warm water and mild soap for latex paints.
- Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear.
- Shake off excess moisture and hang or lay flat to air dry.
- Avoid leaving the wooden handles submerged in water, as this can cause the wood to expand and crack the ferrule connection.
