The Thomas Dudley 6-inch Copper Float is designed for professional plumbers and homeowners needing a reliable, long-lasting solution for water level management in tanks and cisterns. Its primary benefit is superior corrosion resistance and durability, though users should ensure the 6-inch diameter fits the specific spatial constraints of their existing cistern or water vessel before installation.

It is designed for standard threaded float valve arms, but verify the thread type and size of your existing system before purchase.
Yes, copper is suitable for hot water environments, but check that your specific valve assembly is rated for the operating temperatures.
If the float sinks or sits significantly lower in the water than usual, it likely has a leak and needs to be replaced.
No, copper is highly resistant to the types of corrosion that typically affect iron or steel floats.
No, this product is the float sphere only and does not include the valve assembly or the mounting arm.
Check if the float has become waterlogged or if the float arm is bent, preventing the valve from fully closing.
Ensure the float is securely threaded onto the arm and that no washer or locking nut is missing.
To install, ensure your existing float valve arm is clean and free of debris. Screw the float clockwise onto the threaded end of the valve arm until secure. Be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the threads. For maintenance, periodically inspect the sphere for signs of damage or water ingress; if the float remains submerged, it indicates a breach in the copper seal. To clean, wipe down with a soft, damp cloth to remove any limescale buildup that might affect its weight and balance.
