MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Light Plus

Unlike many regular pressed powders, Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is slow-baked, which results in a softer, more luminous, and less flat finish. It aims for a natural, dimensional look rather than a heavy matte effect.

The Light Plus shade is specifically formulated for fair to light complexions. While it might work for very subtle highlighting on some medium skin tones, it's generally best to choose a shade closer to your natural skin tone for an all-over finish. Other shades like 'Medium' or 'Medium Dark' might be more suitable for medium skin.

While it provides a natural finish, it does help to absorb excess oil and extend foundation wear, making it suitable for slightly oily to combination skin types. For extremely oily skin, it can be used, but you might need more frequent touch-ups or a dedicated mattifying primer underneath.

For setting makeup, use a large fluffy brush. For a luminous glow, use a smaller, denser brush on high points of the face. For touch-ups, a powder puff or small brush works well. Always use a light hand to avoid a cakey appearance.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural provides minimal coverage. It's designed to even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of imperfections for a smooth, perfected look, but it is not a substitute for a foundation or concealer that offers significant coverage.

For a more pronounced glow, use a denser brush to apply the powder to the high points of your face (cheekbones, brow bone). You can also apply a second, light layer specifically to these areas.

Ensure your skin is prepped well with a primer or moisturizer before foundation. Consider using a setting spray after applying your makeup to help lock everything in place, including the powder.

This could be due to oils from your skin transferring to the powder, creating a hard surface. Gently scrape the top layer with a clean, blunt edge (like a credit card) to reveal fresh product. Ensure your brushes are clean.
