FAQs
What is a platform-top base?
A platform-top base provides a solid, even surface for your mattress, unlike traditional slatted bases. This offers consistent support and can help prolong the life of your mattress by preventing sagging.
What are the available fabric options?
The Pemberton Divan Bed is available in several Sloomy fabric collections, including Plush Velvet, Naples, Coniston, and Dumfries, offering a range of textures and colors.
Can I choose the number of drawers?
Yes, storage options vary by size. Small Single and Single beds can have no drawers or 2 drawers. Small Double, Double, King, and Super King sizes can have no drawers, 2 drawers, or 4 drawers, with options for left, right, or footend placement.
How do I clean the yellow fabric?
For general cleaning, vacuum with an upholstery attachment. For stains, use a clean, slightly damp cloth to blot the area. Avoid harsh chemicals.
Is assembly required?
Yes, some assembly is required, primarily attaching the headboard to the base. Larger sizes come in two pieces. It is recommended to have two people for assembly.
What is included with the bed?
The package includes the platform-top base, the 26" headboard, chrome gliders, pre-fitted metal clips, and headboard bolts & fixings. A 12" matching footboard is also included.
Are the chrome gliders easy to manage?
Yes, the chrome gliders are designed to protect your floors and make repositioning the bed relatively easy. They can be adjusted slightly if needed.
Troubleshooting
Bed base is uneven or wobbly
Ensure all connecting pieces (if applicable for larger sizes) are securely fastened and that the gliders are all making contact with the floor. Adjust gliders if necessary.
Drawers are difficult to open or close
Check that the drawers are correctly aligned with their runners. Ensure there are no obstructions within the drawer cavity or on the runners themselves. Lubricate metal runners if needed.
Headboard is loose
Re-tighten the headboard bolts and fixings. Ensure the headboard is correctly attached to the designated points on the divan base.
Fabric shows minor scuff marks
Gently clean the affected area with a slightly damp cloth, blotting rather than rubbing. Allow to air dry completely.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The bed base typically comes in one piece for smaller sizes (Small Single, Single) and two pieces for larger sizes (Small Double and upwards). Larger configurations may also include separate drawer units. Ensure all pre-fitted metal clips are aligned correctly before securing. Headboard bolts and fixings are provided for attachment to the base. It is recommended to have two people for assembly, especially for larger sizes or when attaching the headboard.
Compatibility: This divan base is designed to be compatible with standard UK-sized mattresses. The platform-top surface is suitable for all mattress types, including memory foam, hybrid, and traditional sprung mattresses. Ensure the mattress fits the bed frame size.
Care: To maintain the fabric's appearance, regularly vacuum using an upholstery attachment to remove dust and debris. For spills or stains, use a clean, slightly damp cloth and blot the affected area gently. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the fabric. For the chrome gliders, a simple wipe with a dry cloth is sufficient to maintain their shine.
