Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Check the fridge freezer for any transit damage.
- Placement: Choose a level, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources (like ovens or radiators), and excessive moisture. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the back and sides.
- Leveling: Use the adjustable feet at the bottom to ensure the appliance is perfectly level. This prevents excessive vibration and ensures the door seals properly.
- Reversible Door (Optional): If your kitchen layout requires, you can reverse the door swing. Refer to the detailed instructions in your user manual for the step-by-step process.
- First Use: After positioning, wait at least 4-6 hours before plugging the unit into a power outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
- Initial Cooling: Plug in the appliance and set the adjustable thermostat to your desired temperature. Allow it to run empty for a few hours (e.g., 4-6 hours) to reach operating temperature before loading with food.
Compatibility
This under-counter model is designed to fit standard kitchen under-counter spaces. Its slim 48cm width makes it suitable for narrower gaps. It's compatible with most domestic power outlets.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning:
- Interior: Regularly clean the interior with a mild detergent and warm water solution. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Remove shelves and door racks for thorough cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Door Seals: Keep door seals clean to ensure an airtight seal and energy efficiency.
- Defrosting: The freezer compartment will require manual defrosting when ice buildup becomes about 5mm thick.
- Switch off and unplug the appliance.
- Remove all food and wrap in newspaper or place in a cooler.
- Leave the door open and place towels at the base to catch meltwater.
- Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before switching back on.
- Energy Saving Tips:
- Do not place hot food directly into the fridge freezer.
- Avoid keeping the door open for extended periods.
- Ensure the door seals are clean and intact.
- Keep the condenser coils (at the back) free of dust for optimal efficiency (Info needed: confirm if coils are exposed or covered).
- Vacation Mode: For short absences, set the thermostat to a slightly warmer setting. For long absences, empty, clean, defrost, and unplug the unit, leaving the doors ajar to prevent odors.
