The Salter Dual Air Fryer in Silver is designed for home cooks looking to prepare healthier versions of fried foods with little to no oil. Its key benefit is the dual basket system, allowing for simultaneous cooking of different dishes, saving time and effort. A potential caveat is the learning curve associated with mastering the dual cooking functions for optimal results. FAQs

How do I use the 'Sync' and 'Match' functions?

The 'Sync' function coordinates the cooking times of both baskets so they finish together. The 'Match' function cooks the same program and time in both baskets simultaneously. Consult your user manual for detailed instructions on selecting these modes via the LED touch display.

Can I put the baskets in the dishwasher?

While the baskets have a non-stick coating, it is recommended to hand wash them with warm, soapy water to preserve the coating's longevity and performance. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

What is the capacity of each basket?

Each of the two baskets has a capacity of 4.5 litres.

Do I need to use oil when cooking?

The Salter Dual Air Fryer is designed for healthier cooking, requiring little to no oil for most recipes. A light coating of oil may enhance crispiness for certain foods.

How do I clean the exterior of the air fryer?

Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure the appliance is unplugged and has cooled down completely before cleaning.

What types of food can I cook in this air fryer?

You can cook a wide variety of foods, including meats, vegetables, fries, fish, baked goods, and snacks. The 12 preset programs cover common items like pizza and cake, but manual settings allow for flexibility with many other dishes.

Can I cook different foods in each basket at different temperatures?

Yes, when not using the 'Sync' or 'Match' functions, you can set independent cooking programs, temperatures, and times for each basket using the LED touch display.

Troubleshooting

Air fryer does not turn on

Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the baskets are correctly inserted.

Food is not cooking evenly

Ensure food is arranged in a single layer in the baskets. Shake or turn food halfway through cooking. Check that the air fryer is on a level surface.

Error message displayed on LED screen

Refer to the user manual for specific error code meanings. Common solutions include unplugging the unit for 30 seconds and plugging it back in, or ensuring baskets are properly seated.

Smoke is coming from the air fryer

Ensure baskets are clean and free from food debris. Reduce the amount of fatty food being cooked, or ensure food is not overcrowding the basket. Check for any packaging material left on the food or baskets.

Food sticks to the basket

Ensure the non-stick coating is not damaged. Lightly coat food with oil before cooking or use cooking spray. Ensure the basket is clean before use.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure the air fryer is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface with adequate ventilation around it.
  2. Remove all packaging materials from the baskets and the appliance.
  3. Wash the baskets and any accessories in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly before the first use.

Compatibility:

This air fryer is designed for home kitchen use. It is not intended for commercial use. Ensure you have sufficient counter space and access to a standard electrical outlet.

Care:

  • Cleaning: After each use, allow the appliance to cool completely. Remove the non-stick baskets and wash them by hand in warm, soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads that could damage the non-stick coating. Wipe the exterior of the air fryer with a damp cloth. The baskets are not typically dishwasher safe, so handwashing is recommended to preserve the coating.
