How do I clean the matt black finish?

Wipe the plate with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals to maintain the finish.

Troubleshooting

Plate not attaching securely

Ensure the compatible Trendi Switch back frame is correctly installed and flush with the wall. Check for any obstructions preventing the plate from clicking into place.

Plate appears uneven or misaligned

Carefully remove the plate by gently prying it away from the wall at the edges. Re-align and press firmly and evenly onto the back frame until it sits flush.

Matt finish is scratched or damaged

Minor scratches may be gently buffed with a soft cloth. For significant damage, the plate may need to be replaced. Avoid using harsh cleaning tools.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Achieves a high-end, modern look with its screwless design.
  • The matt black finish is versatile and resists fingerprints better than gloss.
  • Provides a smooth, easy-to-clean surface.
  • Enhances the overall aesthetic of a room by concealing unsightly outlets.
  • Simple to install for a quick upgrade.

Cons

  • Only compatible with specific Trendi Switch back frames.
  • Requires careful alignment during installation to ensure a flush fit.
  • May not be suitable for all existing electrical box types without modification or adapter.
  • The screwless design means the plate is a single unit and cannot be easily painted or customized.
  • Can show dust more readily than lighter colored plates.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure you have a compatible Trendi Switch back frame installed in the wall.
  2. Align the screwless plate with the back frame.
  3. Gently push the plate towards the wall until it clicks securely into place.

Compatibility:

  • This blanking plate is designed to be used with the corresponding Trendi Switch "screwless" back frame system.
  • Standard UK back box dimensions (fixing centres 60.3mm) are generally compatible with the integrated back frame.

Care:

  • Clean the surface with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the matt finish.
  • For stubborn marks, use a mild soap solution and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
