Product Information

Full details

This Manfrotto MB MA3-M-M Advanced Messenger Camera Bag is designed for professional photographers and freelance drone pilots who need a versatile and protective way to carry their gear. Its key benefit is the customisable interior with M-Guard protection, capable of holding a full DSLR system or a DJI Mavic Pro 2 kit. A minor caveat is its Japanese voltage and plug design, requiring a transformer for use outside Japan.

FAQs

What is the M-Guard protection system?

The M-Guard protection system uses high-density EVA foam with a slim profile to provide excellent shock absorption and protect your camera gear from impacts.

Can I fit a full-frame DSLR with a battery grip?

While it fits a DSLR with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, a full-frame DSLR with a battery grip might be a tight fit depending on its exact dimensions. It is best suited for standard DSLR bodies.

Does the bag come with a rain cover?

Yes, the bag includes a dedicated rain cover to provide extra protection during adverse weather conditions.

What are the external and internal dimensions of the bag?

External dimensions are 28cm (H) x 39cm (W) x 19.5cm (D). Internal dimensions are 26cm (H) x 36cm (W) x 13cm (D).

Can I use this bag with my drone?

Yes, the interior can be customized to fit a DJI Mavic Pro 2 kit, along with its accessories.

How do I clean the bag?

Clean the bag with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners.

Is the shoulder strap removable?

The shoulder strap is not designed to be removed but is adjustable for comfort and features a quick-adjustment buckle.

Troubleshooting

Bag won't zip smoothly

Check for obstructions in the zipper track. Ensure the contents are not pressing against the zipper.

Interior dividers feel flimsy

Ensure the dividers are correctly positioned and secured via the Velcro. They are designed to be lightweight for customizability.

Laptop compartment feels too tight

Confirm your laptop is 14 inches or smaller. The padding may make the initial fit snug; try sliding it in carefully.

Waterproofing is insufficient in heavy rain

Deploy the included rain cover. For prolonged exposure to heavy rain, consider additional waterproofing sprays specifically designed for synthetic fabrics.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent protection for camera gear with the M-Guard system.
Highly customizable interior to fit various equipment setups.
Comfortable to wear for extended periods, especially with the stabilizer strap.
Durable and weather-resistant construction.
Sufficient space for both camera equipment and a laptop.

Cons

Requires a voltage transformer for use outside Japan (90-110V) due to its Japanese plug type.
Front pocket might be tight when the main compartment is fully loaded.
The strap for carrying a tripod is only suitable for smaller models.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The primary setup involves adjusting the interior dividers to best suit your equipment. The padded dividers can be repositioned using the Velcro attachments. Ensure your laptop fits snugly in its dedicated compartment.

Compatibility: This messenger bag is designed with a Universal brand compatibility for cameras. It can accommodate laptops up to 14 inches. For power-related accessories, please note the bag's design is for Japanese voltage (90-110V) and uses Type A or B plugs; a voltage transformer is required for use in regions with different voltage standards.

Care: The exterior is made of synthetic fiber and is water-repellent. Clean the bag with a damp cloth as needed. For heavy rain, utilize the included rain cover. Avoid abrasive cleaners or submerging the bag in water.
