Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before installation, ensure your computer is powered off and unplugged from any power source. Open your device's back panel or chassis according to your manufacturer's manual. Locate the existing RAM slots and gently press down on the metal clips to release the current module if necessary. Align the notch on the G.Skill Ripjaws module with the ridge in the SO-DIMM slot and press firmly until the clips snap into place. Upon booting, enter your BIOS/UEFI to verify the memory is detected and enable the XMP profile to ensure it operates at its rated 2666 MHz speed. Handle the module only by its edges to prevent static discharge or oil transfer to the gold contacts.
