Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Choose a well-draining potting mix suitable for your chosen plant.
- Place a layer of gravel or small stones at the bottom of the pot to further improve drainage (optional).
- Fill the pot with potting mix, leaving space for the plant's root ball.
- Carefully remove your plant from its original container and place it in the terracotta pot.
- Fill in the gaps around the root ball with more potting mix.
- Water thoroughly after planting.
Compatibility:
This pot is compatible with a wide range of plants, especially those that thrive in well-drained soil, such as succulents, herbs, and certain flowers. Ensure the plant's size is appropriate for a 22cm pot.
Care:
- Watering: Water your plants regularly, but allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent overwatering. The porous nature of terracotta can cause the soil to dry out more quickly.
- Cleaning: Clean the pot periodically with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Protection: In freezing climates, consider moving the pot indoors or protecting it to prevent cracking. Alternatively, choose a frost-resistant sealant.
