The diminutive M3 Stuart light tank occupies an important position in the history of WWII, as it was the first American tank made available to British and Commonwealth forces via the Lend-Lease programme. Used in the North African campaign, the M3 proved to be an extremely reliable and relatively fast tank, earning the respect of British crews who quickly learned to use it to its best potential. The M3 would also be used by the Americans during their first tank versus tank engagements of WWII and despite being outclassed by most German tanks, would be used extensively in support and reconnaissance roles following the D-Day landings. This Corgi Military Legends series features a range of top quality die-cast model toy tanks and army vehicles toys suitable for children. It is an ideal army gift for young military vehicle fans and offers a wide range of toy tank models to collect. Since inception in 1956, Corgi has been famous for creating timeless diecast toys and models covering historical periods from WW2 toys and army playset models to the present. Sought-after collectibles from vintage cars to model planes, start your collection with this kids army gift. In 1932, toy manufacturer Philip Ullmann founded the Mettoy Company who began producing a range of tinplate metal wind-up toys for boys and girls. In 1955, from a list of seventy different names, the iconic 'Corgi' was chosen, after the dog.
