Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the surface is clean and free of loose debris. While WaterWeld bonds to wet surfaces, removing significant contaminants will improve adhesion.
- Cut off the required amount of putty from the stick.
- Knead the putty with gloved hands until a uniform color is achieved. This indicates the resin and hardener are fully mixed.
- Apply the mixed putty firmly to the repair area within 25 minutes of mixing.
- Shape and smooth the putty as needed. It will begin to harden after 25 minutes and fully cure in 1 hour.
Compatibility:
WaterWeld bonds well to a variety of materials including PVC, ABS, metal, fiberglass, concrete, and ceramics. It is suitable for repairs in plumbing, marine, automotive (non-engine block), and household applications. Avoid use on rubber or flexible plastics where significant movement occurs.
Care:
Store unused putty sticks in their original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Ensure the package is sealed to prevent premature curing. Cured repairs can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
