FAQs

What is the maximum distance the HDMI signal can be extended?

The HDMI signal can be extended up to 165 feet (50 meters) using a single CAT6 cable.

Does this extender support 4K resolution?

Yes, it supports resolutions up to 4K (3840 x 2160) at a 60Hz refresh rate.

What type of cable is required for the extension?

A single CAT6 cable is required for the connection between the transmitter and receiver. CAT5e may work for shorter distances but is not recommended for optimal performance.

Is this extender compatible with HDCP 2.2?

Yes, the extender is HDCP 2.2 compliant, ensuring compatibility with the latest HDMI 2.0 devices and content protection.

Can I control my source device from the display location with this kit?

Yes, the kit includes IR blaster and receiver capabilities, allowing you to extend the IR signal for remote control of your source device from the display location.

Does the extender support HDR content?

Yes, it supports High Dynamic Range (HDR), providing enhanced contrast and color for a more lifelike image.

What audio formats are supported?

The extender supports up to 7.1 channel audio, ensuring high-quality sound transmission.

Do I need power for both the transmitter and receiver?

Yes, both the transmitter and receiver units require their own power adapters to function.

Troubleshooting

No video or audio signal is being transmitted.

Verify that both the transmitter and receiver are powered on. Check that all HDMI and CAT6 cable connections are secure at both ends. Ensure the CAT6 cable is not damaged and is a CAT6 or higher specification. Try using a shorter known-good CAT6 cable for testing. Confirm the display is set to the correct input source.

Video quality is poor (e.g., flickering, pixelation, stuttering).

The issue may be with the CAT6 cable quality or length. Ensure you are using a certified CAT6 cable. If the distance is close to the maximum 165 ft (50 m), try a higher quality shielded CAT6 cable. Check for any kinks or damage in the CAT6 cable run. Ensure the source device is outputting a compatible resolution and refresh rate.

IR remote control functionality is not working.

Ensure the IR transmitter cable is correctly positioned to 'see' the IR receiver on the source device, and the IR receiver cable is correctly positioned to 'see' the remote control. Verify that the IR cables are plugged into the correct ports on both the transmitter and receiver units. Test the IR functionality with a known-good remote control.

The device is not working after a power surge or outage.

Unplug the power adapters from both the transmitter and receiver, wait 30 seconds, and then plug them back in. Check your power outlet to ensure it is functioning correctly.
