Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the soldering iron is unplugged from the power source.
- If replacing the tip, unscrew the retaining nut (if applicable) and carefully remove the old tip. Insert the new tip and secure it firmly.
- Plug the 3-pin plug into a suitable grounded electrical outlet.
Compatibility:
This soldering iron is designed for use with standard 230V AC power outlets. It is compatible with Sealey replacement soldering tips (ensure correct model is purchased).
Care:
- Cleaning the Tip: After each use, clean the tip while it is warm using a damp sponge or brass wool tip cleaner. This removes flux residue and oxidation. Apply a thin layer of solder to the tip (tinning) when storing to prevent corrosion.
- Storage: Store the soldering iron in a cool, dry place away from flammable materials. Ensure it has cooled down completely before storage.
- Cable Care: Avoid kinking or damaging the power cable. Inspect the cable regularly for any signs of wear or damage.
