Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your cake remains stable, always select a drum board that is at least 2 to 3 inches wider than your cake diameter; this leaves enough room for decorative borders and provides a handleable edge for lifting. To care for your board, avoid submerging it in water, as it is made of compressed materials. If you need to clean the surface, use a slightly damp cloth to wipe away any icing spills immediately. Store the boards in a cool, dry place away from direct moisture to prevent warping. When working with extremely heavy cakes, ensure the cake is centered on the board to distribute the weight evenly.
