Setup, Compatibility & Care
Before installation, confirm that the 1496 model is the correct specification for your engine via the manufacturer's catalog. When installing, always use a torque wrench to meet your vehicle's specific `torque-specification` to prevent thread damage. It is recommended to apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads if directed by your vehicle owner's manual. During routine maintenance, inspect the electrode for signs of excessive wear or carbon buildup. If the engine shows signs of sluggish performance, check the electrode gap using a feeler gauge to ensure it remains within the manufacturer’s recommended tolerances.
