This SIP Variable Speed Midi Wood Lathe is ideal for those seeking a robust and reliable wood lathe to accurately shape, turn, drill and sand pieces to the desired specification. A perfect starter lathe for home enthusiasts or second lathe for advanced turners making smaller pieces, its designed to maximise stability whilst turning. It features a heavy duty cast iron bed, headstock and tailstock, along with fully electronic variable speed control with a digital display. The lathe operates on a 230V 13A supply and has a 0.75hp (550W) motor. The electronic variable speed control ranges from 500 to 3,500 rpm. It has an MT1 Spindle Thread of 3/4 x 16tpi and offers 17" between centres, with a 12" bowl turning capacity. The overall length is 950mm. Includes: NVR thermal switch, faceplate, drive centre, revolving tailstock centre, 2 x tool rests, and a digital speed display. It is suitable for soft and hard woods and features a 305mm max. turning diameter and a 432mm distance between centres. The cast iron MT1 headstock and MT1 tailstock ensure an assured hold to the workpiece. For improved safety, it has a thermal cut-off switch. The digital speedometer display provides an accurate readout of the headstock spindle speed.
