The Woodside 50-Cell Root Trainer set is designed for serious gardeners and hobbyists looking to maximize seedling health through superior root development. By encouraging vertical growth, these trays produce robust plants that are significantly easier to transplant, though they require more potting medium volume compared to shallow starter plugs.

This set includes six 50-cell trays.
Yes, these trays are excellent for starting herbs, vegetables, flowers, and cuttings.
It is recommended to hand wash them with warm water to prevent the plastic from warping or becoming brittle.
No, the cells are integrated into the tray design, so no additional inserts are required.
Each tray measures 54cm in length, 28cm in width, and 9cm in depth.
Ensure the potting mix was sufficiently moist before pushing from the bottom. Do not pull by the stem.
Check that the drainage holes are not blocked and that the soil mix is providing adequate aeration and drainage.
To set up your trays, place them on a flat, level surface, ideally within a greenhouse or on a sunny windowsill. Fill the cells to the top with a moist seed compost. After sowing, monitor moisture levels daily, as deeper cells can sometimes dry out at the bottom if the mix is not sufficiently dense. After transplanting, clean the trays by rinsing them with warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could degrade the plastic. Once completely dry, store the trays stacked in a shed or garage, away from direct sunlight, to prolong the life of the material.
