Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the central heating system is turned off and drained down.
- Isolate the radiator by closing existing valves (if applicable).
- Remove the old radiator valves.
- Apply PTFE tape or appropriate sealant to the threads of the new valve inlets.
- Screw the straight valves into the radiator's corresponding ports, tightening firmly but without overtightening.
- Connect the valve tails to the pipework using appropriate fittings (e.g., compression fittings or soldered joints), ensuring a secure and leak-free connection.
- Refill the heating system and bleed any trapped air.
- Turn on the system and check for leaks at all connections.
Compatibility:
These valves are designed for use with standard central heating systems. They connect directly to radiators with appropriate inlet threads and are compatible with standard pipe sizes. They are intended for use with water-based heating systems.
Care:
- Clean the polished chrome surface regularly with a soft, damp cloth.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can scratch the finish.
- For stubborn marks, use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry the valves completely after cleaning to prevent water spots.
