The Cricut Scoring Stylus is an essential accessory for crafters using Cricut Explore and Maker machines who want to create professional-grade 3D projects like custom boxes, cards, and intricate envelopes. Its primary benefit is the ability to score fold lines while your machine simultaneously performs cuts, eliminating the need to pause your project or swap tools manually. Please note that while it works seamlessly with both Explore and Maker series, it must be inserted into the correct accessory clamp to function alongside the cutting blade.

No, the Scoring Stylus is specifically designed for the Explore and Maker series and is not compatible with the Cricut Joy.
No, you can use the standard LightGrip or StandardGrip mat depending on the material you are scoring.
No, both the pen and the stylus use the accessory clamp (Clamp A). You will need to complete one task before swapping them.
In Cricut Design Space, ensure your lines are changed to the 'Score' linetype and 'Attached' to the corresponding project shape.
The tip is rounded to create a crease without piercing the paper, making it safe for standard paper and cardstock.
Check that the stylus is fully seated in the clamp and try selecting a heavier material setting in Design Space to increase pressure.
Verify that your project file in Design Space has the lines set to 'Score' rather than 'Cut' in the layer attributes.
To set up the stylus, open the accessory clamp (Clamp A) on your Cricut machine, insert the stylus until you hear a click, and close the clamp. Ensure your cutting blade is seated firmly in the secondary housing. This tool is fully compatible with all Cricut Explore and Maker machines. Regarding care, keep the stylus tip clean of adhesive residue. If the tip accumulates paper fibers or glue, gently wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth. Always store the stylus in a cool, dry place to ensure the tip remains free of damage or rust.
