The Zipbolt Ultra Solid Compact Laminate Joining Kit is designed for professional installers and serious DIYers looking to achieve seamless, high-strength connections in solid compact laminate worktops. Its primary benefit is the ability to complete a join in under five minutes using specialized tensioning connectors, though users must note that the included epoxy requires precise handling to ensure a clean, flush finish.

This kit is specifically designed for solid compact laminate, which is much thinner and denser than standard wood-based worktops.
It is recommended to use the included Zipbond epoxy, as it has been tested for chemical compatibility and curing speed with these connectors.
You will need a biscuit jointer, a drill, and a router to prepare the worktop edges for the connectors and biscuits.
The kit contains components to complete exactly one single join.
Yes, the T25 bit is a standard hex-shank bit compatible with most cordless impact drivers and drills.
Check that the biscuits are fully seated and that the connector cavities are deep enough to allow full retraction.
Ensure the work area is prepped and tools are ready before applying the adhesive; work in smaller batches if necessary.
Verify that the Torx T25 bit is fully engaged and the hole is drilled to the correct diameter.
To set up the join, ensure your worktop edges are factory-square. Use a biscuit jointer to create slots for the included size 20 biscuits. Drill the required cavities for the QT18.100 connectors according to the manufacturer's depth specifications. Use the provided alcohol wipes to clean the laminate edges thoroughly before applying the Zipbond epoxy. Once the connector is seated, tighten it using the included T25 bit until the gap is closed and the surfaces are flush. Post-installation, immediately wipe away any excess epoxy from the surface with the provided wipes before the resin cures.
