The Proxxon Mill / Drill System BFW 40/E is a versatile tool for precision milling and drilling. It features a head with a precision-milled dovetail slide that can be tilted through 90 degrees for diagonal drilling and milling. The fine feed is selectable, allowing for precise adjustments with a dial and depth scale. It has a geared rack and pinion feed for effortless drilling with a 65mm stroke. The drill column is 45mm in diameter and 500mm long, with a throat of approximately 140mm. The stable, machined baseplate measures approximately 200 x 300mm and includes T-slots for securing workpieces. It is compatible with drills featuring a standard 43mm spindle collar, such as those from Bosch, Metabo, Matika, and Skil. The system includes a controller for variable speeds ranging from 900 to 6,000rpm. The triple ball bearing armature provides a direct drive, ensuring virtually vibration-free operation and high spindle accuracy. The aluminium die-cast head has a 43mm spindle neck, and the casing is made from fibreglass-reinforced nylon. A large, easy-to-use switch with an emergency function is included, along with a chart indicating optimal speeds for various materials. Technical Data: Control unit with full wave electronics for 230V, 40VDC secondary voltage. Power consumption up to max. 250W. Spindle speed is infinitely variable between 900 and 6,000rpm. The package includes triple slit, hardened collets covering sizes 2.35, 3.0, 3.2, 4.0, 5.0, and 6.0mm, as well as spanners. The unit weighs 4.2kg. The motor operates at 40V, supplied from the power pack/controller, which provides ideal control characteristics and high torque even at lower speeds.
