FAQs

How often should I replace BIBS dummies?

It is recommended to replace natural rubber latex dummies every 4 to 6 weeks for hygiene and safety reasons.

Can I put the storage box in the dishwasher?

Yes, the storage box is generally dishwasher safe, but microwave sterilization is recommended for the dummies themselves.

Is the latex material prone to allergic reactions?

While natural rubber is a common material, if your baby has a known latex allergy, you should consult your pediatrician before use.

Does the clip come with the bundle?

Yes, this bundle includes a matching braided dummy clip as part of the complete set.

What does the Size 1 mean?

Size 1 is specifically designed for newborns, usually categorized as 0-6 months.

How do I use the box as a sterilizer?

Add a small amount of water to the box, place the dummies inside, and heat in the microwave according to the specific wattage guidelines on the packaging.

Troubleshooting

Nipple feels sticky after washing

Natural latex can become tacky after sterilization; lightly dust it with a small amount of cornstarch or let it air dry completely before next use.

Dummy clip is not attaching firmly

Check the fabric and the clip mechanism for debris; ensure the teeth of the clip are fully engaged with the baby's garment fabric.

Water enters the nipple during cleaning

This is normal for round-shield dummies; simply squeeze the nipple firmly while it is pointing downward to push any trapped water out after cleaning.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Mimics breast shape to support natural suckling
Comprehensive set includes cleaning and storage solutions
Highly ventilated shield prevents skin irritation
Environmentally conscious and ethically produced in Denmark
Versatile storage box doubles as a sterilizer

Cons

Natural latex requires more frequent replacement than silicone
Size 1 is specific to newborns and will eventually need upsizing
Hand-washing recommended for the fabric clip

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before first use, place the dummies in boiling water for five minutes to ensure complete cleanliness. For daily maintenance, you can use the storage box to microwave-sterilize the pacifiers by adding a small amount of water to the box. Because the nipples are made of natural rubber latex, they should be inspected regularly for cracks or signs of wear. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight or heat, as this can degrade the natural latex material. The fabric clip should be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid soaking the metal or wooden components to prevent rust or damage.
