Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Identify the camshaft sprockets on your engine.
- Loosen the timing belt tensioner and remove the old timing belt.
- Use the appropriate cam clamp (dual or single) to securely grip the camshaft sprocket(s).
- Ensure the clamp is firmly attached and the camshaft is held in its correct timed position.
- Install the new timing belt following the manufacturer's specific procedure.
- Remove the cam clamps once the belt is tensioned and correctly installed.
Compatibility: This kit is designed for most single overhead cam (SOHC) and twin cam engines. It is also suitable for diesel injection pump belt replacement. Always consult your vehicle's specific repair manual to confirm compatibility and timing procedures.
Care:
- Clean the clamps after each use with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
- Store the kit in its original case or a clean, dry toolbox to prevent damage and loss of components.
- Avoid exposing the clamps to excessive moisture or corrosive substances.
