Setup, Compatibility & Care
Getting your Swan Retro Digital Microwave ready for use and maintaining it is straightforward.
Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove all packaging materials, including any internal packing from the microwave cavity and off the turntable.
- Placement: Position the microwave on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation space around the unit (typically 10-15 cm around the sides and back, and 30 cm above). Do not place it directly against a wall or in an enclosed cabinet.
- Turntable Assembly: Place the turntable ring in the center of the microwave cavity, then place the glass turntable plate securely on top of the ring.
- Power Connection: Plug the microwave into a standard, grounded electrical outlet (220-240V, 50Hz for most regions).
Compatibility
- Electrical: This microwave is compatible with standard household electrical outlets. Always ensure your outlet's voltage matches the product specifications.
- Cookware: Use only microwave-safe dishes. Metal containers, foil, or dishes with metallic trim are not suitable and can cause arcing. Refer to your cookware's labels for microwave safety.
Care & Maintenance
- Interior Cleaning: Regularly wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent, especially after spills or splatters. For stubborn food residue, place a bowl of water with lemon slices inside and microwave for 2-3 minutes, then wipe clean. Ensure the microwave is unplugged before cleaning.
- Turntable Cleaning: The glass turntable and roller ring can be removed and washed in warm, soapy water or in the dishwasher.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the finish.
- Door Seal: Keep the door seal clean to ensure a proper closure and efficient operation.
- Odor Removal: To eliminate lingering odors, place a bowl of water with a few drops of lemon juice or a tablespoon of baking soda inside and microwave on high for a few minutes.
