Setup
- Choose a Location: Select a discreet, sturdy, and easily accessible location for installation, ideally out of direct view from the street.
- Mounting: Mark the drilling points using the lock box as a template. Drill pilot holes suitable for your chosen mounting hardware (screws and anchors, not included). Securely fasten the lock box to the wall.
- Set Combination: Open the lock box door and locate the reset lever (or button) inside. Follow the specific instructions in your user manual to set your unique, memorable combination. Write down your combination in a secure place, but not near the lock box.
- Test: Close the lock box, scramble the dials, then enter your new combination to ensure it opens correctly.
Compatibility
This key lock box is compatible with most standard house keys, car keys (without large electronic fobs), and small key rings. Ensure your keys fit comfortably inside the compartment before securing the box.
Care
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Mechanism Maintenance: If the dials or opening mechanism become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant. Avoid oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust.
- Combination Security: Regularly review who has access to your combination and consider changing it periodically, especially after staff changes or if you suspect it may have been compromised.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the mounting hardware and the lock box itself for any signs of wear, damage, or tampering.
