The Clairefontaine Technik Art Graph Pad is an essential resource for students, designers, and illustrators who require high-precision drafting surfaces for technical drawing and schematic work. Its key benefit is the specialized blue-grid printing that remains invisible during photocopying, allowing for clean, professional-looking reproductions of your technical drafts. The main caveat is that the 70gsm paper is relatively thin, which may lead to ink bleed-through if using heavy-weight markers or fountain pens.

While technically possible, 70gsm paper is thin, so there is a high risk of ink feathering or bleed-through. Fine-liner pens are recommended.
The grid is typically printed on one side of each sheet for optimal clarity.
The paper is 70gsm, which is a lightweight paper standard for sketching and technical drafting.
The paper is FSC-certified, but it is not marketed as archival-grade acid-free, so it is best for drafts rather than long-term display.
Yes, the pad measures 210 x 297mm, which is the standard international A4 size.
Adjust the 'contrast' or 'color filter' settings on your copier to ignore blue light frequencies.
Use technical pencils, ballpoint pens, or fine-liners instead of fountain pens or heavy-flow markers to accommodate the 70gsm weight.
Ensure you are pulling the sheet gently from the top edge rather than folding the page back against the glue line.
The pad is ready for use immediately upon removing the protective cover. To ensure the best longevity of your work, store the pad flat in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture-induced wrinkling of the 70gsm sheets. When using this for professional scanning, ensure your scanner's color filter settings are correctly adjusted to ignore the blue print, though most modern scanners will naturally omit this tone. For archival purposes, consider using acid-free storage sleeves for finished pages, as standard 70gsm paper is not archival-grade.
