Yes, it is commonly used on automotive steel and iron components to prevent rust, provided the surface is prepped correctly.
The product is formulated for use, but if using spray equipment, ensure your specific sprayer nozzle is rated for the viscosity of bitumen-based paints.
No, this product is designed as a final protective coating. Ordinary paints will not adhere well to bitumen-based surfaces.
No, this product is intended for general anti-corrosive use and is not certified for potable water storage containers.
Wait until the first coat is touch dry, which takes approximately 4-8 hours under normal conditions.
Ensure the surface is completely free of grease, dust, and loose rust. If the surface was previously painted with ordinary paint, it must be removed to bare metal first.
Bitumen naturally weathers over time; ensure you have applied the recommended two coats to maintain thickness and protection for as long as possible.
The product may have been applied too thickly or in low-temperature/high-humidity conditions. Ensure adequate ventilation and allow extra drying time.
Before starting, ensure the target surface is clean, dry, and free of loose debris or flaking rust. Using a wire brush to remove loose material is recommended for better adhesion. The product is not designed to bond with existing ordinary paints, so it should be applied directly to cleaned bare metal or previously bitumen-coated surfaces. Avoid using this product on tarmacadam as the petroleum solvents can soften the substrate. Storage should be in a cool, well-ventilated area away from extreme heat, as the product is restricted to use on surfaces that remain below 70 degrees Celsius.
