Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: These scissors require no setup. They are ready to use straight out of their plastic-free packaging.
Compatibility: Designed for general use, these scissors are compatible with common household materials such as paper, cardstock, fabric (light to medium weight), thread, and thin plastic packaging. They are not recommended for cutting heavy-duty materials like metal, thick plastic, or very dense fabrics.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: For best results and hygiene, these scissors are dishwasher safe. However, hand washing with warm water and mild soap is also effective and can help prolong the life of the blades.
- Drying: After washing, especially if hand washing, dry the blades thoroughly with a soft cloth to prevent water spots or potential rusting, although the quality steel is resistant.
- Sharpening: To maintain optimal cutting performance, use the Fiskars scissor sharpener when you notice a decrease in cutting efficiency. This is a simple process that can restore the blades' sharpness.
- Storage: Store the scissors in a dry place, preferably in a protective sheath or a drawer to keep the blades safe and sharp.
