The Dick Premier Plus serrated utility knife is designed for professional chefs and home cooks who demand precision, durability, and a clean cut for difficult ingredients like crusty bread or soft-skinned produce. It provides a masterfully balanced, corrosion-resistant solution for everyday kitchen tasks; however, the serrated edge requires specialized sharpening techniques that differ from standard straight-edge kitchen knives.

No, it is highly recommended to hand-wash the knife to protect the blade integrity and handle material.
Store it in a dedicated knife block, a knife drawer insert with separators, or on a magnetic wall mount.
The handle is designed for kitchen environments, but it should not be submerged in water for long periods.
Because of the hardened steel, it will retain an edge for a long time, but touch it up with a sharpening rod only when you feel resistance while slicing.
While it can slice through cooked meats, it is primarily designed as a utility knife for breads and produce; a dedicated carving knife is better for large roasts.
This indicates a dull edge; have the knife professionally sharpened or use a specialized serrated rod sharpener.
Ensure the knife is thoroughly dried immediately after washing and avoid soaking in water for extended periods.
To maintain the longevity of your knife, always hand-wash with mild detergent and warm water immediately after use. Avoid using high-heat dishwashers, as they can damage the handle and dull the blade edge prematurely. Store the knife in a wooden knife block or on a magnetic rack to prevent the serrations from coming into contact with other hard metal utensils, which can cause chipping. When the edge eventually dulls, use a professional serrated blade sharpener or contact a professional sharpening service to maintain the specific geometry of the teeth.
