The Neilsen Door Stand is an essential tool for carpenters, joiners, and DIY enthusiasts who need a reliable way to hold doors securely on edge while working. Its primary benefit is the combination of a wide, stable base and an adjustable clamp, which allows for hands-free tasks like planing, hinge installation, and mortising; however, users should note it is designed specifically for door processing and is not intended for use with exceptionally heavy or oversized non-standard doors exceeding its 58kg weight limit.

The Neilsen Door Stand is rated for a maximum weight capacity of 58kg.
Yes, provided the exterior door falls within the 32mm to 55mm thickness range and does not exceed the 58kg weight limit.
No, the stand comes with non-marring pads specifically designed to protect door surfaces from scratches.
The base is 600mm wide, which provides significant lateral stability.
The stand is designed for immediate use, requiring only simple adjustment of the clamp to fit your specific door size.
Verify that the door is pushed fully into the clamp and that the clamping bolt is tightened securely against the door face.
Ensure the door thickness falls within the 32mm to 55mm range; if the door is thicker, the clamp adjustment has been exceeded.
Ensure the base is placed on a clean, dry surface; if slipping persists, use a thin rubber mat beneath the base to increase traction.
Setting up the Neilsen Door Stand is straightforward. Ensure the stand is placed on a flat, level surface to maximize the effectiveness of the 600mm base. To use, adjust the clamp width by loosening the tension bolt to match your door thickness, slide the door into position, and tighten until the door is firmly gripped. For care, regularly check the integrity of the non-marring pads; if they become covered in wood dust or debris, wipe them clean with a damp cloth to maintain their grip. Store the stand in a dry environment to prevent corrosion and ensure the moving parts of the clamp mechanism are kept free of heavy grit or sawdust buildup.
