A Cake Drum is the strongest and thickest type of Cakeboard, being 12mm thick and comprising a bonded fibreboard inner covered on the top and sides with fern embossed aluminium foil, with a white paper lined base - covered in black shiny foil. These double-thick boards are made with an MDF base for strength and stability. Board will hold cakes of any height. It is recommended to choose a board that is 2 inches wider than your larger cake tier, giving you 1 inch around the edges of your cake. Using a coloured cake drum is the easy alternative to covering your drum with sugarpaste! This pack of 5, 12mm thick, 14" Square Black Cake Drum Boards are ideal for presenting your cakes upon. Strong enough to support any type of cake, from a heavy fruit cake to a lighter sponge cake. As a general rule, a 14" drum is perfect for a 11" fruit cake, and a 12" sponge cake.
