The Eagle Plug-in 3 Pin Mains Socket Tester (Y023BE) is an essential diagnostic tool for homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, and electricians who need to verify the safety and wiring accuracy of standard 3-pin wall outlets. Its primary benefit is the ability to instantly identify hazardous wiring faults such as reversed connections or missing earth, providing peace of mind with a simple plug-and-play operation; however, it is important to note that this device only tests for basic wiring configuration and cannot detect complex electrical issues like voltage fluctuations or high-impedance faults.

No, this device is designed specifically for standard UK 3-pin mains sockets.
No, the device is powered entirely by the electricity from the socket being tested.
This device is designed for static, "at-the-moment" testing. It may not catch intermittent faults caused by loose wiring that only disconnects under specific thermal conditions.
It is a reliable entry-level tool for basic wiring verification. Professional electricians may use more advanced multi-function testers for detailed circuit analysis.
Immediately stop using that socket and consult a qualified electrician to inspect the wiring behind the faceplate.
Ensure the power to the socket is switched on at the wall and the circuit breaker/RCD is active. If the socket is live and no lights appear, the socket itself may have a complete loss of power or the tester may be faulty.
Verify the LED sequence against the reference chart printed on the body of the tester. Ensure you are looking at the device from a direct angle to clearly see which specific bulbs are illuminated.
This device does not require any physical setup or batteries. It draws power directly from the socket being tested.
