Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The rod is ready for use out of the protective packaging. Ensure the reel is securely attached to the screw-down reel seat, aligning the reel foot into the designated grooves. Attach your chosen reel and tighten the screw-down mechanism firmly but without over-tightening.
Compatibility: This rod is designed to accommodate standard carp fishing reels. The reel seat size is compatible with most popular large-capacity big pit or pit-style reels. Ensure your reel spool size and line capacity are appropriate for the intended fishing conditions and casting distances.
Care: To maintain the rod's performance and appearance:
- Rinse after use: After fishing, rinse the rod with fresh water, especially if used in saltwater or brackish conditions, to remove salt and dirt.
- Clean the guides: Periodically clean the Seaguide TDG guides with a soft, damp cloth to ensure smooth line passage.
- Inspect the handle: Wipe the Japanese shrink wrap handle with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Store properly: Store the rod in a rod sleeve or protective bag when not in use. Avoid storing it in damp conditions or direct sunlight for extended periods.
- Transport with care: Use a rod tube or a padded rod bag for transport to prevent damage to the blank and guides.
